The Trap of Popularity

It gets us every time! We are allured by the promise of acceptance, validation, and above all, glory. Whether it is basking in the glow of a roaring stadium or the piling up of likes and viewsAmbush_1900_B003 on social media, we’re addicted to the adrenaline surge of popularity. But its usually a trap, a deadly cheat. And if it doesn’t ruin us here, it will in the world to come. Jesus saw the trap. As he performed wonders, his fame exploded. But he rejected it and actually so embraced rejection that he accepted the cross. “He was despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.”

Join us as we explore the Bible’s teaching on popularity and what it means for you on the Lord’s day (Sunday), April 7, 10:30 a.m., at the Rocky Hill Grange, 1340 South County Trail, on the corner of Route 2 and Division Road.
